Online Safety

At Sticky Fingers Pre-school, we are committed to ensuring the safeguarding and well being of our children and their families, including keeping safe online.
We recognise the benefits as well as the risks and challenges of the online world and understand the importance of teaching children how to keep safe when using technology and the internet from a young age, as well as supporting and encouraging our families to do what they can to keep children safe online.
It is important that children and young people receive consistent messages about the safe use of technology and are able to recognise and manage the risks posed in both the real and the virtual world.
In each of our settings we have an Online Safety Coordinator who will be responsible for overseeing internet and technology safety, including but not limited to:
-
Ensuring that our E-Safety policy (alongside our Safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults policy) is understood and procedures are adhered to,
-
Managing staff training on online safety,
-
Sharing updates with families around online trends and ways to keep their families safe,
-
Ensuring that online safety is embedded into our curriculum and children are consistently taught the 'Stay Safe ' principles in an age appropriate way.
